Racing Action in Williston ND
The celebrations begin on Thursday, July 3, with an exciting night at Williston Basin Speedway. Dirt track racing gets underway at 7:00 p.m., making it a great way to kick off the holiday weekend. Families will want to arrive early because the first 100 kids through the gate will receive a free backpack filled with fireworks. After the final checkered flag waves, fans are encouraged to stick around for a spectacular fireworks display to cap off the evening in Williston.

Throw Some More History Into Your Holiday
History lovers can spend the day at Confluence/Fort Buford during Stars, Strips and Stories, running from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Visitors can enjoy stories from the frontier, games on the lawn, crafts, mini talks, and other educational activities that bring America's past to life.

Freedom Fest Is For Everyone
If you're looking to make a weekend of it, Tioga's Freedom Fest runs July 3-5 with carnival rides, live music, fireworks, a parade, and plenty of activities for the entire family. It's one of the region's biggest Independence Day celebrations and offers something for all ages.

Sidney Montana Welcomes One And All
Just across the state line, Sidney, Montana will also celebrate America's 250th with a full day of fun on July 4. Their festivities include carnival rides, inflatable attractions, a tractor pull, a bike show, and many more family-friendly activities.

Bainville Has Something For Everyone
Bainville, Montana is also gearing up for a great way to celebrate. The celebration kicks off with “Red, White & WOW!”, inviting everyone to show off their red, white, and blue for a community parade featuring entries in categories like Most Patriotic, Best Youth Entry, and Best Presentation, highlighting music, costumes, and crowd energy.
Families will find plenty for kids in Bainville, including a Tot/Kid Parade for ages 7 and under, where wagons, strollers, and toy carts become mini floats—plus participants receive a free scoop of ice cream. Kids can also jump into a Power Wheels Race, while adults can take part in the always-popular Lawn Mower Race.
The day also includes a 5K Walk/Run, a church service in the park, and a community potluck, offering plenty of ways for residents to gather and celebrate. Organizers remind attendees to bring lawn chairs, keep pets leashed, and note that fireworks are not allowed in the event area.
