Join The Party For American State Bank’s Big Anniversary

American State Bank & Trust Company is marking 120 years of serving communities across western North Dakota and eastern Montana, highlighting more than a century of locally focused banking.

Founded in 1906, the bank has remained under the ownership of the Davidson-Sogard family since its early years. Leadership has passed through multiple generations, beginning with W.S. Davidson Sr., followed by Thomas M. Davidson Sr., and continuing today with Tammy Davidson-Sogard and her family.

“We are so proud of the 120-year relationship my family has had with Williston and the surrounding region,” said Tammy Davidson-Sogard. “Our focus continues to be to enhance that relationship by providing the best possible banking experience to the citizens of our region.”

Bank officials said the milestone reflects long-standing ties to local businesses, agriculture and community organizations, as well as the institution’s ability to adapt to changing customer needs.

“For 120 years, our success has been rooted in relationships we’ve built with our customers and broader community,” said David Hanson, president and CEO. “This anniversary is a testament to the trust generations of customers have placed in us, as well as the dedication of our employees past and present.”

Pat Sogard, chairman of the board, said the anniversary underscores the role of employees, customers and community members in shaping the bank’s legacy.

“To celebrate the 120th anniversary, the bank will host a ribbon cutting on July 15 at 1:30 p.m.” Sogard said. “Few institutions have the privilege of serving their communities for 120 years.”

Anniversary events will take place July 13-17 at the bank’s main location, 223 Main St. in Williston, and will include treats, giveaways and opportunities to reflect on the bank’s history.
