When it comes to art and culture, we sometimes get little attention in western North Dakota. Between oil rigs, livestock, and all that lies between, cultural arts may feel like a side issue. The fact is, though, they shouldn't be. Whether it's singing, strumming, drumming, painting, or photography, this place impresses me with all these skills; creativity is alive and thriving up here. And the James Memorial Art Center in Williston is the venue that honors it.

The center will be hosting an Artist Reception Friday, March 28, highlighting the outstanding creations of photographer Lindy Green and printmaker Eric A. Johnson. Thanks to the sponsor, the Williston Music Intensive, if you haven't had a chance to explore their work this is the perfect time to lose yourself in some local talent while enjoying food and live music.

Even if you are unable to attend the reception, you still have ample time to view all these works at your own pace. Running through March 28, 2025, the show offers plenty of time for you to visit and absorb the artistic vitality.
