The 2022 Upper Missouri Relay for Life is in the books, and judging by the numbers, it was a huge success again this year! If you are not aware of Relay for Life, it’s an annual event that raises much-needed dollars to continue cancer research, educate cancer patients, provide services to cancer patients, and supports advocacy.
Williston’s local event is called Upper Missouri Relay For Life. People from all over the area did rummage and bake sales, held car washes, and worked all year on reaching the goal for 2022. This year, 40 corporate sponsors and 15 teams came together on July 29 at the Raymond Center in Williston for this year's relay.
The Survivor Lap is one of the special events at the relay. It’s so important to see these people firsthand because they are cancer survivors. Every individual taking the survivor’s lap is a shining example of just how important this cause is, and how significant every dollar raised really is.
The most moving part of the Relay For Life is the luminaria ceremony. It is a somber time to reflect, remember, and realize why this is event is so noteworthy.
The results are in, and they out of this world! After all is said and done, and all the counting wrapped up, the 2022 Upper Missouri Relay For Life raised $151,529.33! The committee members have said that they are truly blessed in this community, and have continued to have amazing support from area businesses and individuals willing to commit to continue to fight against cancer.
