Western North Dakota Offers A Ton For A Quick Vacation
With summer winding down, and school back in session, you might be thinking you’re running out of time to actually get away for a day or two. Here are a few suggestions for a last-minute getaway in western North Dakota.
Camping.
You can never go wrong camping in our neck of the woods. If you camp in a camper or prefer to rough it in a tent, there are several camp options you should check out. White Earth Bay, Lewis & Clark, Tobacco Gardens, and Trenton Lake are all great options.
Medora.
Medora is just two hours away from Williston. This little town is small, but it packs a punch with things to do. Step back in time and ride the trails on horseback. Shop on their main street. Stuff yourself with the pitchfork fondue. Be sure to take in the Medora musical too. Time is running out to enjoy the 2023 musical.
Theodore Roosevelt National Park.
This is an amazing place that offers so much to see and enjoy. Activities to enjoy include hiking, biking, horseback riding, canoeing, fishing, and wildlife viewing. It truly is an amazing place that never disappoints.
Why Not Minot?
Take a quick trip to Minot. The magic city has a ton to offer! Different food choices, the Roosevelt Zoo, the Dakota Territory Air Museum, and the Dakota Square Mall. You can even check out the water park at the Sleep Inn at the mall.
Check Things Out In Williston.
Williston is constantly adding things to do. There is Fort Union and Fort Buford, The Confluence Interpretive Center, golfing, the ARC, and a few new places to eat and shop!
Don’t let these opportunities slip away. Before you know it, we will be getting the shovels out, and hunkering down for the cold months ahead.
