Fundraising Begins as Williston North Dakota Prepares for 2027 Babe Ruth World Series
Williston is set to host a special event in August of 2027, and fundraising is already underway to help make it happen.
The city will welcome the 2027 14-Year-Old Babe Ruth World Series, scheduled for August 14–21, 2027, at Ardean Aafedt Stadium. The event will bring elite youth baseball talent to Williston, with teams representing eight regional champions from across the United States and Canada. North Dakota’s state champion will compete alongside the host team from Williston, giving local fans a front-row seat to high-level competition on a national stage.

Fundraising Effort Builds on Williston’s Strong Babe Ruth Baseball Legacy
Organizers say hosting the Babe Ruth World Series is both an honor and a major undertaking. The 2027 Babe Ruth World Series Committee has launched a fundraising campaign with a goal of $350,000. Funds raised will be used for stadium improvements and to cover operating expenses associated with hosting the weeklong tournament. These upgrades are expected to benefit not only the World Series, but also local athletes and the community for years to come.
Williston has a strong history with Babe Ruth Baseball, having previously hosted World Series events in 1980, 2003, 2013, 2016, and 2022. That track record played a key role in being selected once again as a host city, highlighting the community’s commitment to youth sports and its ability to support large-scale events.
Tournament Chairman Larry Grondahl says community involvement will be critical to the event’s success. Businesses, organizations, and individuals are encouraged to get involved through sponsorships or contributions. Those interested can also request presentations or meetings to learn more about how they can support the effort.

Beyond the games themselves, the 2027 Babe Ruth World Series is expected to bring significant economic impact to Williston, with teams, families, and fans filling hotels, restaurants, and local businesses throughout the week.
More information about fundraising opportunities is available through the Williston Parks & Recreation District or by contacting the World Series Committee. As preparations continue, organizers are hopeful the community will once again rally behind an event that puts Williston in the national spotlight.
