The City of Williston will be amending its home rule charter to indefinitely extend and reenact the existing one percent sales and use tax for the Williston Parks and Recreation District on an indefinite basis after Tuesday's vote.

The funds from the one percent sales tax will be used by the WPRD for Park District Operations and for the repayment of bonds issued by the district for facilities, improvements, lands, structures, equipment, and rights of way.

With the passing of the continuation of the sales tax, the WPRD will eliminate any or all property tax assessments for as long as the sales tax remains in effect.

LOOK: Montana's Most Beautiful Rivers

When you're looking for some of Montana's prettiest rivers, you don't have to look for - but you can certainly get off the beaten path, too.
The largest river in Montana by volume is the Clark Fork, but it's NOT the longest. The Clark Fork is considered the headwaters of the Columbia River Basin.
