Winter Woes in North Dakota: Is Your Heater on the Recall List?
Winter just got a little chillier—literally and figuratively. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has issued a recall for about 7,780 Vornado VH2 Whole Room Heaters due to a rather shocking issue.
No, seriously—these heaters could deliver an electric shock or even cause a fire! Talk about turning up the heat in all the wrong ways.

Check Your Heater: These Models Are Part of the Recall
Here’s the scoop: if your heater is off-white, boasts “TYPE VH2” on a silver rating label, and has a "JUL24" or "AUG24" date code, it’s time to part ways. These were sold on Amazon from August to October 2024 for around $90—proof that not everything in your online cart is a great deal.
The problem? The power cord can partially detach, leading to cord damage and the aforementioned hazards. Vornado says these heaters were supposed to warm up your room, not your stress levels.
Stop Using It and Contact Vornado for a Safer Solution
If you have one of these rogue devices, stop using it immediately and contact Vornado for a replacement. Think of it as trading in a dangerous roommate for one that doesn’t threaten your home’s safety. Vornado toll-free at 844-205-7978 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. CT Monday through Friday, email at vh2recall@vornado.com or online at www.vornado.com/recalls/vh2 or www.vornado.com and click on “Product Recalls” at the top of the webpage to check if your heater is included in the recall.
Winter is tough enough without a heater playing with fire (literally). Stay warm, stay safe, and remember, no online review can prepare you for a heater with an attitude problem.
