Williston Then And Now: Tracing The Town’s Transformation Over Time
I was recently reminiscing with friends and family about old Williston and some of the businesses that painted our town’s character way back in the day, especially those on the Million Dollar Way. Is it even called that anymore? Anyway, it’s funny how certain places stick in your mind, like the old parts shop on the corner or that favorite restaurant with the best pizza burger in town!
Curious to see how much had changed, I took a digital stroll through history using Google Maps, going as far back as I could (2007) to relive those cherished memories.
Remember the little building where the best BBQ came from? Today, it's a parkling lot for one of our furniture stores. Think back to when it was a local favorite where everyone knew your name. Or the old carpet store, which was the best place to get tile for that home improvement project.

attachment-Williston Remember These
One of the most surprising finds was the transformation of our old airport. Back in the day, it was on the north end of town. as Williston grew, it was in the center of town. Now, there is very little left to remember where it was. Yet, if you listen hard enough, you can almost hear the planes reving up to take off!
Looking back, it’s clear that while Williston has evolved, its heart remains the same. The businesses may have changed or moved, but the spirit of our community and the nostalgia of those simpler times endure.
So, here’s to old Williston, a place that lives on in our hearts and through our stories!
