Traffic Safety in Focus: Williston Police Step Up Enforcement Amid Changing Fall Conditions

Traffic enforcement seems to be a major focus area as fhe report showed 121 traffic stops conducted during the week, resulting in 50 citations and 12 written warnings. Officers continue to remind motorists to drive attentively, obey posted limits, and keep safety top of mind as fall weather and shorter daylight hours can affect road conditions.

In addition, Williston officers responded to 22 traffic accidents — 18 non-injury and 4 involving injuries. Police urge residents to stay alert, especially during morning and evening commutes when visibility can be challenging.

Officers also completed 100 official reports, a reflection of the department’s ongoing work to serve, protect, and document public safety activity.

The Williston Police Department provides weekly summaries such as this one on a regular basis in order to keep us residents informed and active in the efforts to ensure the safety of our town. The fact that there are people in the region who do not utilize social media is another reason why I find it interesting to discuss and share these statistics.
