Williston State College announced on Thursday that it had been awarded a $7,500 grant from the Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota Caring Foundation (BCBSNDS) to support programming and equipment for new and expanded nursing and allied health programs.

The grant provides general capital support aimed at enhancing student learning through modernized lab spaces, hands-on training equipment and updated instructional resources.

College officials said the improvements will help ensure students in WSC’s healthcare programs are prepared to meet the region’s rising demand for skilled nursing and allied health professionals.

“This generous support from the BCBSND Caring Foundation strengthens our ability to deliver high-quality, hands-on training opportunities for our students,” Williston State College President Dr. Bernell Hirning said. “As we expand our healthcare offerings, partnerships like this play an essential role in helping us meet the workforce needs of our community and the state.”
