Find Your Favorite Hotdish at Williston North Dakota’s Tastiest Winter Event
If winter in North Dakota had an official love language, it would definitely be hotdish. Warm, comforting, and always better when shared, this Midwest classic is about to have its moment in the spotlight once again—and the countdown is officially on. The way time flies, this big event will be here before you know it, so it’s time to start planning accordingly (and by planning, we mean finding your stretchiest pants).

Hotdish Fest Brings Comfort Food, Competition, and Cozy Fun to Williston
The Williston Downtowners Association will host its annual Hotdish Fest on Saturday, February 7th, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Old Armory in Williston, and it’s shaping up to be the coziest event in town. For just $20, attendees get the chance to sample a wide variety of hotdishes that range from tried-and-true classics to creative concoctions you never knew you needed in your life.
This isn’t just a tasting event—it’s a friendly competition. Teams will be battling it out for bragging rights in several categories, including Traditional Hotdish, Creative/Modern Twist, People’s Choice, and Best Booth. Whether you’re a purist who believes tater tots should never be messed with, or an adventurous eater willing to try something unexpected, there’s a hotdish here with your name on it.

And because no good gathering is complete without a beverage, beer will be available for purchase at this 21+ event, making it the perfect winter afternoon escape. Cold weather outside, warm comfort food inside—it’s a Williston win-win.
Tickets are available at the door, but you can also grab them in advance here, which is never a bad idea when comfort food is involved. So mark your calendar, round up your friends, and prepare your taste buds. Hotdish Fest isn’t just an event—it’s a celebration of community, creativity, and casseroles done right.
