Williston and Williams County Continue Mosquito Control Efforts with Aerial and Ground Missions
As mosquito season ramps up in western North Dakota, Williston and Williams County are once again taking proactive measures to reduce mosquito populations and protect public health. Between now and June 17, 2025, the Williams County Vector Control District (WCVCD) will be conducting multiple adulticide missions—both from the air and on the ground—weather permitting.

What to Expect
Aerial Adulticide Mission
WCVCD will carry out an aerial spraying operation targeting the Williston and Grenora areas. The operation could begin as early as the afternoon of Wednesday, June 11, using a product called Imperium, which is approved by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for mosquito control. This is a common product used in mosquito control and is considered safe when applied correctly.
Safety Reminder
Residents are strongly advised to stay at least 300 feet away from any Vector Control trucks while they are fogging. This helps ensure the safety of both the public and the field crews while maximizing the effectiveness of the treatment.
Weather-Dependent Scheduling
The WCVCD emphasizes that all spraying operations are weather-dependent. Wind, rain, and other unfavorable conditions can delay or reschedule planned missions to ensure the sprays are effective and meet safety standards.
