If you've spent any time at a Williams County park this summer, you've probably noticed just how beautiful everything looks. Thanks to plenty of rainfall, the grass is lush, the trees are thriving, and parks across the county are looking some of the best they have in years.

On top of Mother Nature's help, ongoing improvements made throughout the county's park system have also been well received by visitors. Whether you're camping for the weekend, enjoying a family picnic, or simply taking in the scenery, there's no better time to get outside and enjoy these community spaces.

As more people head to the parks during the busy summer season, Williams County Parks officials are reminding everyone that keeping the parks clean and welcoming is a shared responsibility.

Take Care Of Your Trash

One of the most important reminders is to properly dispose of trash. Garbage should always be placed in a trash can, dumpster, or taken home if necessary. Leaving waste behind in campsites, picnic areas, or fire rings creates unnecessary cleanup, attracts wildlife, and takes away from the experience for other visitors.

Fire rings are intended only for safe, contained campfires. They should not be used for disposing of food scraps, beverage containers, or other trash. Proper use of park facilities helps maintain safety and keeps the parks enjoyable for everyone.

Hammering On Locks Is Not The Best

Park officials also reminded visitors that if they need access to a locked restroom, assistance is available. A simple knock on the door may resolve the issue if the facility is in use, and if there are any ongoing concerns or maintenance needs, visitors are encouraged to contact the Williams County Parks Department directly.
