
Celebrating Excellence: Williams County Law Enforcement Honorees Shine in North Dakota
I enjoy writing these types of articles because they recognize the positive contributions made by law enforcement and provide recognition when it is due. The Williams County Sheriff's Department recently honored several deputies for their exceptional service and dedication to the community. These awards highlight all the hard work and commitment of law enforcement officers who go above and beyond daily for us.
Distinguished Service Award
Deputy Kyle Ruggles received the Distinguished Service Award for his exemplary service. Deputy Ruggles has been with the Sheriff’s Office since 2022 and is currently assigned to the Patrol Division.

Life Saving Awards
Two deputies were recognized with the Life Saving Award for their heroic actions in critical situations:
- Deputy Hayden Kuchler, a member of the Sheriff’s Office since 2015, serves in the Patrol Division.
- Sergeant Jacob Gregory, who joined the department in 2018, works as a Sergeant and Shift Supervisor in the Patrol Division.
Commendation Awards
Two deputies received Commendation Awards for their dedication and outstanding performance:
- Deputy Ryan Egerman, who has been with the Sheriff’s Office since 2017, is currently assigned to the Special Operations Truck and Weight Division.
- Deputy Tyler Hinricksen, a member of the department since 2013, is assigned to the Patrol Division.
Employee of the Year
The Sheriff's Department also recognized Kjersti Evenson as the Williams County Employee of the Year. Evenson, who has been with the Sheriff’s Office since 2021, serves as an administrative assistant at the Correctional Facility. Her dedication and hard work have made a significant impact on the department's daily operations.
These awards serve as a testament to the unwavering commitment of the Williams County Sheriff’s Department to ensuring the safety and well-being of the community. Congratulations to all the honorees for their outstanding achievements, and thanks for your service!
