Understanding Williston ND’s 48-Hour Rule: Parking Regulations Explained
Greetings, Williston residents! The sun continues to shine, and people are enjoying the perfect weather. As summer continues, it's a good time for a friendly reminder about our parking ordinances. To ensure our community stays safe and our streets remain clean, here are a few key points to keep in mind:
48-Hour Rule: Did you know that parking your vehicle in the same spot for over 48 hours is a no-go? This rule helps keep our streets clear and accessible for everyone.
Trailers and Campers: From December 1st to March 31st, it's a no-no to park trailers, boat trailers, snowmobile trailers, pull-type campers, and house trailers on public rights of way. During the warmer months, from April 1st to November 30th, these vehicles must also adhere to the 48-hour rule.
Sidewalks and Crosswalks: Parking on sidewalks, crosswalks, or within 10 feet of a fire hydrant or crosswalk is a big no-no. Also, remember not to block intersections or public or private driveways.
Traffic Signs: Keep clear of traffic signs! You must not park within 15 feet of any flashing beacon or stop sign.
Two-Way Roadways: On two-way streets, make sure your vehicle's right-hand wheels are parallel to and within 12 inches of the right-hand curb.
Violating these ordinances might result in a parking ticket or even towing. For more detailed information, check out our ordinances here.
The City of Williston and the Williston Police Department thank you for your cooperation and for helping all involved keep Williston a wonderful place to live! Safe driving and happy parking!
