Two Die Over the Weekend in Separate Crashes on Bakken Roadways
Williston and Halliday, ND (KEYZ) A Williston man and a man from Dickinson are the victims of two separate crashes over the weekend on Bakken roadways.
A Williston man was killed in a motorcycle crash occurring on ND 1804 on Saturday afternoon.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol reports that at approximately 3:32 p.m., 51-year-old Lonnie Paul Brannin of Williston was riding his motorcycle northbound on 1804, approximately five miles west of Trenton. While passing another vehicle, Brannin lost control of the motorcycle. The motorcycle then entered the north ditch, where it overturned. Brannin was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. A report from the NDHP indicates Brannin was not wearing a helmet.
A 38-year-old Dickinson man is dead following a rollover crash Friday morning in Dunn County. Troopers say Agbor Echum had been headed south on Highway 8, four miles north of Halliday, when he apparently lost control of his 2003 International Harvester truck. The truck strayed onto the west shoulder before regaining the road, at which point it rolled and Echum was thrown from the vehicle; he was pronounced dead at the scene. A report from the North Dakota Highway Patrol indicates Echum was not wearing a seatbelt.
Both crashes remain under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
