Garrison turns itself into a Dickensian wonderland all while avoiding epidemic threats such as smallpox, typhus, yellow fever, and scarlet fever.
Every year, families from all across North Dakota, eastern Montana, and southern Canada will be delighted and amused by Garrison's Dickens Village Festival.
This event transforms a 1,500-person village into a charming Victorian town reminiscent of Charles Dickens' time. The Dickens Village Festival takes place over three Fridays and Saturdays starting Thanksgiving week.
Highlights of this ever-popular festival include live entertainment, special events like the Fruticake Toss and Piccadilly Square Craft Vendor Show, street food vendors, street urchins, and street carolers, a lighted Main Street parade at dusk, and a theater production of "A Christmas Carol."
