Sweet Surprises: North Dakota’s Top Valentine’s Day Candy Picks
It seems like we just got done wrapping presents and getting things finalized for the stockings. Now, we are knee-deep in February, and Valentine's Day is coming up fast. Where did the time go? If you have not got the plan set for Valentine's Day, you still have a few days. Let's start with candy. Where do we even start? Candystore.com is a great website that looks at each state, and what residents like when it comes to candy. We used them to look at Halloween candy trends a few months back, and now we will see what the top Valentine's Day candy is for our area.
Montana
The Treasure State is pretty traditional when it comes to candy. For 2024, our friends to the west favored chocolate hearts. Conversation Hearts came in second, and Hershey Kisses came in third.
Minnesota
Surprisingly, lutefisk didn't make this year's list. For 2024, our friends to the east favored M&M's. A heart-shaped box of chocolates was placed second., followed by conversation hearts in that order.
South Dakota
Our friends in the Mt. Rushmore state love the Conversation hearts. Hershey Kisses came in second, and the heart-shaped box of chocolates came in third.
North Dakota
Finally, we look at North Dakota. We are pretty traditional too. For 2024, we favor M&M's for the Valentine's Day sweet tooth. Conversation hearts came in second, and the heart-shaped box of chocolates came in third.
Some honorable mentions for some additional suggestions include candy necklaces (Alamaba), Cupid Corn (Michigan & Nebraska), and chocolate roses (Wyoming).
