Important Reminder for Williston Parents: Re-Enroll Students Before It’s Too Late
If you have a student in the Williston School District, there’s an important deadline quickly approaching—and officials say now is the time to act.
The district is asking families to complete student re-enrollment for the 2026–2027 school year by May 15, and while many have already taken care of it, there’s still a long way to go. So far, families of 1,451 students have completed the process, but thousands more students still need to be re-enrolled before the cutoff date.

System Switch Adds Urgency: Miss May 15 and Re-Enrollment Waits Until August
This year’s deadline carries extra urgency because of a major system transition. After May 15, the district will shut down PowerSchool as it prepares to move to the new, state-required Infinite Campus platform. Once that switch happens, re-enrollment will not be available again until August.
That gap could create real challenges for families who wait too long. According to the district, students who are not re-enrolled on time may face delays when it comes to classroom placements at the elementary level or building class schedules for middle and high school students. In short, a few minutes now could prevent a lot of frustration later.

Simple, Online, and Supported: District Works to Make Re-Enrollment Easier for Families
District leaders acknowledge that re-enrollment isn’t always the most exciting task on a parent’s to-do list, especially during a busy spring. But they stress that the process is designed to be as simple as possible. Families can complete everything online, even from a smartphone, making it easier than ever to check it off the list.
For those who run into issues, help is available. The district’s enrollment department is ready to assist families with troubleshooting and questions to ensure every student is properly registered for the upcoming school year.

Parents and guardians are encouraged to check their messages through ParentSquare, email, or text for detailed instructions. Additional information is also available on the district’s website.
The bottom line is simple: don’t wait. Completing re-enrollment now helps the district plan ahead and ensures students can start the next school year without unnecessary delays.
The deadline is May 15, and once it passes, families will have to wait until August to complete the process.
