Attention Williston residents and folks in the surrounding area: there’s an important change you’ll want to make note of if you ever need to take care of Social Security business. Starting next Wednesday, July 16, the Social Security video service will have a brand-new home base in Williston, North Dakota.

Since November of 2024, this helpful service has been operating out of the Center for Development, but now it’s packing up and moving over to the Williston Community Library, located at 1302 Davidson Drive. While the location is changing, you can breathe easy—there will be no change to the days or hours of operation.

So, What Does This Video Service Do

If you’ve never used it before, the Social Security video service is a convenient way for residents to get face-to-face help with a variety of important Social Security tasks—without having to drive to a larger office miles away. Through this service, you can replace your Social Security card, update your address, report changes in your situation, or simply ask questions you may have about Social Security benefits and requirements.

Williston Library Becomes New Home for Social Security Video Service

The Williston Community Library is ready to step in as the new location, and the move is expected to make the video service more accessible for area residents. Libraries are already trusted community spaces—easy to find, welcoming, and comfortable for folks of all ages—so the transition should be a smooth one.

The service will continue to be available every Wednesday and Thursday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. That means you can stop by during your lunch break or in the afternoon to take care of what you need.

So mark your calendar, make a note, and remember: Wednesdays and Thursdays, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., at the Williston Community Library is your new go-to spot for Social Security video assistance.

For more information, you can always reach out to the library staff or check with the Social Security Administration’s website for any updates.
