We've all been had at one time or another by a post on social media that appears to be explosive and ridiculous, only to then realize that it is April Fool's Day.

That won't be the case here on KEYZ.

While silly practical jokes can be fun to be on the receiving end of, some that go too far are just not where it's at.

There have been tons of harmless practical jokes that businesses have engaged in over the years. This article from Parade has a whole list of them that don't do any harm to anyone and can largely be seen as a silly little joke. However, that is not always the case from this Indystar piece on the matter.

It's not that hard to read the room and easily see that it's just not something that needs to be done.

We can't speak for our parent company, Town Square Media, because we have no control over what they post to our family of stations here in the Mon-Dak. All that we can do is be diligent and remove any said posts from our website if they are sent from on high.

Blowback be damned, it's the right thing to do.

Does that mean that you shouldn't do your pre-planned April Fool's Day prank? Absolutely not. We just hope that you make sure it can be something that everyone can have fun with, and it is not at anyone else's expense.
