If you’ve ever thought about getting more involved in your community, this could be your chance to help make Election Day run smoothly in Williams County. While most people think voting simply means showing up and casting a ballot, there’s actually a lot that happens behind the scenes to ensure elections are organized, secure, and efficient. That’s why Williams County is currently looking for additional election workers for the upcoming Primary Election on June 9, 2026.

Poll workers are still needed in several communities, including Tioga, Wildrose, and Williston at both the ARC and Fairgrounds voting locations. Election workers play an important role on Election Day by helping check in voters, answering questions, assisting with ballots, and keeping the voting process moving smoothly throughout the day.

The county says anyone interested in serving must be a U.S. citizen, at least 16 years old, and a resident of Williams County. That means even high school students who meet the age requirement can step up and take part in the election process while gaining valuable experience in civic involvement.

For many people, working the polls is a chance to give back to the community while learning more about how local elections operate. It’s also an opportunity to meet neighbors, work alongside other community members, and help ensure every eligible voter has the chance to participate in the democratic process.

With Election Day approaching quickly all across North Dakota, Williams County is hoping to fill the remaining openings soon. Whether you’re retired, a student, or simply someone looking to get more involved locally, serving as an election worker can be a rewarding experience.
