North Dakota: Where Stress Goes to Take a Nap
When it comes to stress, North Dakota and Montana aren’t exactly the first places that come to mind. And for good reason! We’ve got wide-open spaces, friendly neighbors, and a slower pace of life that seems to keep those stress levels in check. But even in our laid-back region, stress can still sneak its way in—just not as much as you might think!
Wallethub recently released their rankings of the most stressed cities in the nation, and guess what? North Dakota’s Bismarck and Fargo barely made the list! Out of 182 cities, Bismarck comes in at a cool 178, and Fargo, well, it’s practically chillin’ at 180. So, if you’re feeling frazzled in either of these towns, just remember that it could be a lot worse.
Meanwhile, in Montana, Billings and Missoula found their way onto the list too, but they’re still doing alright. Billings landed at 138, and Missoula at 125. Not too shabby for cities that are more known for their stunning landscapes than high-stress living.
In case you’re curious, the city crowned as the most stressed in the nation is Cleveland, Ohio. While we may tip our hats to them for their resilience, we’re more than happy to stay in our peaceful corner of the country, where stress takes a backseat to fresh air, friendly faces, and maybe a fishing trip or two.
So, next time life gets a little hectic, just remember—you’re living in one of the most relaxed places in the country. And that’s something to smile about!
