Memorial Day Reminder: Cemetery Decoration Guidelines for Williston North Dakota
Memorial Day 🇺🇸 is just around the corner, falling this year on Monday, May 26. As we take time to honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country, the City of Williston Public Works kindly asks for your cooperation in maintaining the beauty and order of our local cemeteries during this important time.
Decoration Placement at Riverview Cemetery Begins May 21
To assist with spring cleanup and cemetery maintenance efforts, residents are asked not to place Memorial Day decorations at Riverview Cemetery until Wednesday, May 21. This allows city crews time to prepare the grounds and ensure everything is tidy and respectful before families begin placing tributes.

Remove Memorial Day Decorations by June 1 — Left Items Available for Pickup
After Memorial Day, all decorations must be removed by Sunday, June 1. Any items left behind after this date will be collected by cemetery staff. If your decorations are removed, don’t worry — they will be safely stored and available for pickup at the Riverview Cemetery Office, located at 815 9th Avenue West.

You’ll have five days to retrieve your items, and the office is open for pickups Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
These guidelines help ensure that our cemeteries remain well-kept and respectful for all visitors, especially during Memorial Day — a time of remembrance and reflection for so many in our community.
