Lights, Sirens, Action! Williston, North Dakota’s Police Academy Offers a Law Enforcement Experience Like No Other

Ever wondered what it’s really like to be a police officer? Do they actually eat that many donuts? Can you really get out of a ticket with a good joke? Well, now’s your chance to find out—minus the flashing lights in your rearview mirror.

The Williston Police Department Citizens Police Academy is back for 2025, and it’s your opportunity to go behind the scenes of law enforcement. This free 13-week program runs Friday nights (with one rogue Thursday) from April 4th to June 27th, giving participants a hands-on experience in everything from DUI Investigations and Firearms Training to Defensive Tactics and SWAT Operations.

Just think, this is your moment to channel your inner action hero (safely, of course).

How to Apply

If you’re 18 or older, you can apply online at WPD’s website. But don’t drag your feet—the deadline is March 14, 2025! Selected applicants will be notified by March 24th, so start practicing your best “I know the law” face.
