Hobby Lobby has long been a beloved craft retail store in the Capital City for a while now.

It caused quite the stir early this year when it was announced that Sanford Medical Center in Bismarck was purchasing the existing Hobby Lobby location in the Gateway Mall parking lot.

There was some concern that the craft store could possibly be closing, especially since similar craft giants like JoAnn's had announced their closures, including right here in Bismarck.

As it turns out, Hobby Lobby in Bismarck has since announced its intention to move to the old Kmart location off of State Street. This will give Hobby Lobby even more room than they have in their current location.

This was a big relief for "crafter" all across the Capital Region, that Hobby Lobby wasn't going anywhere in Bismarck.

I literally had to talk some of our listeners off the ledge when I published a story about their building being sold.

Now, people in western North Dakota will have a Hobby Lobby location, too.

According to a press release from the Prairie Hills Mall in Dickinson, North Dakota, Hobby Lobby is set to open in their mall on this coming Monday, September 15th at 9 am.

Hobby Lobby now has stores in 5 locations across the state, including Bismarck, Fargo, Grand Forks, Minot, and now Dickinson.

Next time you're traveling west and you have the urge to get your "craft fix", you have another option: Hobby Lobby in Dickinson.
