We drive by them all of the time. When we do, we think about our lost loved ones, and often go visit them where they rest.

Most North Dakota graveyards are nice and well-kept, though there are a few very old cemeteries in our state that give off bad vibes.

Creepy and Haunted Cemeteries in North Dakota

As a kid, I remember some of my friends wanting to sneak into a local cemetery and play with a Ouija board. It was something many young people would do during spooky season. I was never brave enough to go, nor would I ever touch one of those boards, but for some, it was exciting and a sort of thrilling adventure.

According to Cheapism.com, there is one North Dakota cemetery that stands out above all others in terms of creepiness.

Have you ever heard of Riverside Cemetery in Fargo? It has been named the most haunted cemetery in our state.

Looking at the pictures, it appears to be a well-maintained place, but some urban legends are circulating. According to OnlyInYourState.com, some people claim to have heard voices throughout the cemetery. Not only that, but there have also been reports of kicking sounds inside the mausoleum, as if the dead are trying to escape their crypt.

Of course, these incidents were reported to have happened at night, which is a time of day I would never visit a graveyard, but to each their own, I suppose.

People have claimed to hear and see spooky things in this cemetery for many years. What do you think? Is it haunted, or are these just unfounded rumors?

Either way, now that we are getting into spooky season, I'm sure we will hear all kinds of spooky stories and haunted tales from the state of North Dakota. Feel free to share your stories with us in the app.
