Bismarck – “Who Hasn’t Received Their Mail In The Last Week?”
Well, I've heard this question asked many times in the last.......week
Here in Bismarck/Mandan - "Have you received any mail in the last week?" I don't know about you, but considering the drastic change in the weather over the last few days, the first thing that pops into my head is exactly that - Mother Nature has put a brief halt in our mail delivery. Too cold for the mail carriers who deliver on foot? Maybe. What about other variables involved? Like people who procrastinate in doing the obvious - shoveling snow, as in their own walkway or driveway.

Here is an example of what I'm talking about
I saw this post yesterday from Bismarck's People Reporting News Facebook ( BPRN ) page:
"Has anyone else not received any mail in a week or more?"
I wasn't the only one to say it's obviously due to the weather - one person said they received a letter, which I'm guessing is fairly standard - "we got a letter today saying we won't be getting mail if the driver has to walk through snow or ice which is crazy we snowplowed last night maybe that can be what's happening" According to usps.com "For successful mail delivery during and after storms, we ask for the cooperation of our customers so that our employees return home safe at the end of each work day. Carriers are not required to deliver to locations where safety issues — such as icy steps, snow-packed paths or icy overhangs — create perilous conditions"
The obvious conclusion
Just use some common sense, and make things easier for your mail to get to you!
