Halloween Fun for Everyone in ND: Williston Embraces the Teal Pumpkin Project
Williston is buzzing with excitement for its annual Trail of Treats on Halloween! This beloved event is always a hit, and the organizers have been hard at work to make sure it’s a spooky good time for everyone. The big day is set for Thursday, October 31 from 3:00 pm - 5:30 pm. When you're downtown, you might see some teal Halloween buckets.
Now, if you’re scratching your head wondering what that is, don’t worry—you’re not alone! While Halloween is known for candy galore, the Teal Pumpkin Project brings a fresh twist to the fun. This initiative, which the Food Allergy Research & Education (FARE) group started, is all about making Halloween inclusive for children with food allergies. It’s simple: if you see a teal pumpkin on a porch, it means they’re offering non-food treats like stickers, glow sticks, and small toys.

It’s a fantastic way to make sure every child can join in the Halloween fun, no matter their dietary restrictions. Teal pumpkins aren’t just adorable—they also send a powerful message of understanding and kindness, letting families know that their kids can safely enjoy trick-or-treating.
