Fog to Blame for Multi-Vehicle Crash Near Sawyer, ND
Sawyer, ND (KEYZ) Heavy fog is to blame for a multi-vehicle crash near Sawyer early Thursday morning, August 25, 2022.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol reports troopers responded just before 8:00 a.m. to a multi-vehicle crash on Highway 52, approximately one mile southeast of Sawyer. The crash involved four commercial motor vehicles and eight passenger vehicles. Heavy fog at the time significantly reduced visibility, which led to the crash. Only minor injuries were reported.
A school bus and an Air Force bus, each carrying passengers, were in the vicinity at the time but were not involved in the crash.
The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office, Ward County Sheriff’s Office, and the Velva Ambulance also responded to the scene. The crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
