Why High Heels?

Since 2001, men, women, and their families around the world have joined Walk a Mile in Her Shoes. What makes the event so unique is the footwear of the participants. All genders and ages walk in high heels. The shoes are a symbol of the challenges women often face but also serve as a show of solidarity and a call for change.

Event Schedule and Registration

Registration for Walk a Mile in Her Shoes starts at 11:00am on Saturday, April 25 at the Raymond Center. There will be plenty to see and do throughout the event, and then the mile walk will begin at 2:30pm.

So, bring your best and most comfortable pair of heels. If heels aren’t your thing, that’s okay. And if walking isn’t your thing, show your support by cheering on participants from the sidelines. You can even volunteer for the event.

If you can’t make it, consider donating to the Williston Family Crisis Shelter’s ongoing work with victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.
