The gift-giving season is upon us, and if you’re hunting for something unique and local, I have just the thing for you! How about giving a gift that’s made right here in North Dakota? The Minot Pride of Dakota Showcase is coming to town, and it’s the perfect place to find locally crafted treasures that’ll wow your friends and family.

Mark your calendars for Friday and Saturday, October 25th and 26th, at the State Fairgrounds in Minot (All Seasons Arena, 2005 Burdick Expressway East). The event is free to attend—thanks to the Bank of North Dakota College SAVE Plan—and will feature all sorts of goodies made by talented North Dakotans.

Over 80 booths will be set up to showcase their goods. Everything from gourmet food to handcrafted art, jewelry, home décor, apparel, children’s items, and even treats for your pets, the Pride of Dakota Showcase has something for everyone. It’s your chance to meet local entrepreneurs, learn their stories, and support small businesses in a fun, festive atmosphere. Whether you’re looking for holiday gifts or just treating yourself, you’ll find plenty of treasures.

If you’re new to Pride of Dakota, let me fill you in! The program was launched in 1985 by then-Commissioner of Agriculture Kent Jones. He wanted to create a brand that showcased products made in North Dakota. Fast forward to today, and more than 500 businesses are part of this initiative, ranging from small, family-run operations to larger companies with 100+ employees.

This local pride isn’t just about buying stuff—it’s about supporting the people who make it. Whether it’s food and beverages, unique gifts, art, or even sporting goods, you’re supporting the hard work and creativity of your North Dakota neighbors. Plus, the showcase offers an array of business development resources and marketing opportunities to help local businesses thrive.

So, head down to the showcase! Doors are open from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. You’ll have plenty of time to browse, chat, and maybe even knock out all your holiday shopping in one go.

Remember, admission is free, so there’s no excuse not to stop by and see what makes North Dakota proud!
