Ornament Artists Needed For North Dakota’s Christmas Celebration
Handmade ornaments are being sought for this year’s North Dakota State Christmas Tree, which will be displayed in Memorial Hall at the Capitol following a lighting ceremony on Dec. 2.
The Office of the First Lady announced that First Lady Kjersti Armstrong has chosen “Peace” as the tree’s theme. Ornaments may range from traditional to contemporary designs, but commercially produced items or those made from kits will not be accepted.
Each ornament must include the creator’s name, email address, and a short description of the art form and how it was made, such as through a class or community project. Entries must be received by Dec. 1 at the Office of Management and Budget, Julie Strom, 600 E. Boulevard Ave., Bismarck, ND 58505.

According to the release, the ornaments become the property of the Office of the First Lady and may be used in future displays.
Gov. Kelly Armstrong and First Lady Kjersti Armstrong will host the State Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony at 6 p.m. on Dec. 2 in Memorial Hall. The event will include music, readings, and remarks.
