Band Day Brings Community Pride And A Focus On Safety

Every year, hundreds of people line the streets to take in the sights and sounds of the parade. Families bring lawn chairs, kids wave excitedly for candy, and the entire community gathers to celebrate hometown pride. It’s one of those events that reminds people why they love living in western North Dakota.

Along with all the excitement, local organizers and law enforcement officials are encouraging everyone to stay alert and help make the day safe and enjoyable for everyone attending.

Keep A Close Eye On The Kids

One of the biggest reminders this year is to keep a close eye on children throughout the event. Parade routes can get crowded quickly, and kids naturally get excited when the bands and floats roll by. Parents are encouraged to keep children close and remind them to stay back from the street and parade route at all times.

Williston Police Department Will Be Out in Full Force

The Williston Police Department will also have officers stationed throughout the event area. Organizers say officers will be easy to spot and available to answer questions, provide assistance, or help anyone who may need directions or support during the festivities.

In addition, the WPD bike patrol team will be moving through the crowds during the event. Their presence helps officers stay visible, mobile, and responsive while keeping an eye on the busy parade route and surrounding areas.

Band Day is always one of the highlights of the year in Williston, bringing together neighbors, visitors, students, and families for a full day of music and community spirit. By working together and keeping safety in mind, organizers hope this year’s celebration will be another fun, memorable, and successful event for everyone involved.
