Four Dead in Anaconda Bar Shooting, Suspect Still at Large
The Anaconda community was shaken Friday morning when a shooting at The Owl Bar left four people dead.
Authorities say the violence broke out around 10:30 a.m. and claimed the lives of a bartender and three patrons. The suspect, 45-year-old Michael Brown of Anaconda, remains on the run.
The Montana Department of Justice is expected to provide an update. Law enforcement has warned that Brown is believed to be armed and highly dangerous. He was last seen driving a stolen white 2007 Ford F-150 pickup with Montana plates DTY493, reportedly heading west on Stumptown Road outside Anaconda.
Brown, who lived next to the bar, is described as 5-foot-10, 170 pounds, with blue eyes and brown hair. His home was cleared by a SWAT team earlier in the day, but he was not found.

Brown served in the U.S. Army from 2001 to 2005 and later in the Montana National Guard until 2009. His military background adds urgency to the search effort, as local and state police continue sweeping the area, including wooded terrain near the town.
