Is This the Worst Intersection in Williston? Police Data Says Yes!
It’s time to take a look at Williston’s driving habits, and maybe laugh a little at ourselves along the way. After all, we’ve all been there: inching out into an intersection, trying to decide if that oncoming car is going 25 mph or 55 mph, all while balancing a coffee and a phone call.
I reached out to the Williston Police Department to find out which intersections in town have seen the most action this year.

One Definitely Stands Out More
The “winner,” if you can call it that, is the intersection of 42nd Street West and 2nd Avenue West...you know, the one by Walmart. Yep, the place where shopping carts roam free and drivers suddenly remember they forgot milk right as they hit the turn lane. That intersection has seen 10 accidents so far this year!

Coming in at a close second is just a few blocks south.
It's 26th Street West and 2nd Avenue West, near Don Pedro's. With 8 accidents, it seems even tacos and enchiladas can’t calm our nerves behind the wheel. Maybe we’re just too excited for chips and salsa to notice the light turning red.
Of course, these numbers don’t mean we Williston drivers are reckless...far from it. We’re just human, navigating busy streets, construction zones, and the occasional mystery blinker. So the next time you’re heading through one of these intersections, take a deep breath, keep your eyes up, and maybe give the horn a rest.
After all, we’d rather be known for our friendliness than our fender-benders. Stay safe out there, Williston. Oh, and maybe shop at Walmart after the morning rush.
