Well, do I begin? I graduated from Grenora High School in 1993 and moved to Williston to attend college. My plan at the time was to get my generals, and then transfer to UND-Lake Region in Devils Lake to pursue law enforcement. From day one, I always wanted to be police officer. I graduated with my Associate in Arts and Associate in Science in 1995. Shortly before graduating from UND Williston, my father heard that the radio station was looking for part time help. I applied, interviewed and was hired the same day! From that day on, I have worked here on KEYZ.
Throughout the years, I have worked part-time, weekends, overnights, full-time, and now I hold the Program Director position for both KEYZ and KYYZ. Law enforcement has not even crossed my mind since. Anyone who has been in the business says radio finds you...I now believe that.
The day to day duties here are mind blowing at times! When I need a break from radio, I try to give back and volunteer when time allows. I currently serve on the Upper Missouri Valley Fair Board of Directors and am looking forward to my 14th fair this year. I serve as a board member and as the Public Relations Director. I am very lucky to be able to work with such a well rounded group of people, with both my job and the fair board! This is a great group of people, and I can safely say these are the people who help make me the person I am today...funny, quick witted, but not much for smarts though!!!
I also serve on the United Way Board of Directors. This is my 7th year, and I love everything about the United Way. This really hit me between the eyes, because I never knew the needs of the organizations, or groups that apply for funding. I feel this is a great way to stay in touch with Williston and the area. I have many friends here as well, and these are the folks I get the smarts from!
I am proud to call Williston home, though my heart is still in Grenora. I am thrilled to be around all the great people in this area, and I am honored to be able to spend a few minutes, or the entire day with all of our listeners.
Well, now you a little about me...If you have a minute and would like to drop me a line, please feel free to do so! My e-mail address is scotth@nccray.net, or look me up on facebook! |
